Nobody's children
Szent István TársulatLeírás
The Only One Mission is an oasis of love and care in an often superficial and uncaring world… This is love and care that doesn’t just hand out a loaf of bread, but first and foremost bestows dignity and value on those stepping over the threshold. The dignity which ultimately only the God of Creation can give to people: “You are my masterpiece, you are my child.
I loved you unto the cross, and I want to lift you up!” The mysterious superpower of the Only One Mission lies in this: when a suffering individual, stripped of all their dignity and identity recognises that in the eyes of the Creator that they are infinitely precious then they find the strength to rise and begin again.
Bishop János Székely
Since we opened our doors on the first of January 2011, so very many people have honoured us by sharing their life stories. There were times when they spoke for hours, having finally found someone to talk to. There were days when four hundred people visited us, on others one hundred; all crowding into
our basement location. Regardless, we try to address each one of them by name and individually, the one standing in front of us at the moment, who then and there is more important than everyone else. This book tells their tales, with words and photographs. It helps to forget the categories they have been
branded, “homeless”, “poor”, and to see the irreplaceable and individual person they are, a brother or sister.
